How much are defense and military important for normal operation of an independent country, the information that annually hundreds of billions of dollars are spent can give us some perspective. Large part of these assets goes to various experiments and research, with the goal to find deadliest and modern combat assets, to beat the possible enemy more efficiently.
Certain ideas and certain experiments were so revolutionary and unusual, that not even after several years of research and millions of dollar of investment, the desired effects were not achieved.
