School is meant to be the best days of your life, but that wasn’t the case for these 10 students who were sent on detention for the worst reasons. From saving a woman from suicide, to fighting with imaginary weapons.

Oliver Adams, 15 years-old, prevented a suicide attempt, after sneaking out of school to buy fries. The school said they were “very proud of him” but still gave him a detention.

Tom Bosley, 16 years-old, breached his school´s health and safety after he ate an apple outside of a designated area. After refusing to attend a detention for the act he was threatened with expulsion.

Harley Elvey, 8 years-old, faced detention every day for refusing to cut his rat tail hairstyle. The single, shoulder-length plait was considered to extreme.

Christian Summers, 11 years-old, ¨received detention for farting loudly on the school bus. His teacher wrote on his detention slip, “while others scream, he loughs”.

Dayana Chang, 15 years-old, was forced to miss lessons as punishment for hugging her friend. Handshakes and high 5s were also banned as the school feared that physical contact led to fighting.

Tabitha McElligott, 17 years-old, got a detention after leaving school in a free period to by lunch. The fear of being told off sent her into cardiac arrest – she had hearth condition ALCAPA.

A Cambridge college gave out over 700 detentions in four days to its 1.295 pupils. Karris Hanslip, 13 years-old, was punished for laughing: other offences included wearing odd socks.

Victoria Mullins, 18 years-old, had to get a 2nd job to pay off a 637 dollar fine for swearing in class. As well as detention, Texas police fined her for disorderly conduct and abusive language.

A boy, six-years, was suspended for making a gun gesture with his hand and saying “pow”. The school accused him of “threatening to shoot a student”.

A boy, 7 years-old, faced suspension for tossing an imaginary grenade while playing. The violated school rules that prohibits all weapons, even if they´re imaginary.
