Thor is the Nordic god off thunder and lightning. the oldest son of Odin (ruler of gods) and Jord (goddess of earth), the strongest among men and gods, thundering, red bearded and protector of Aesire from the giants. His three magical objects are: Thor’s hammer (thunder), belt with powers and iron gloves.
Stories tell that the thunder is in fact the sound his chariot produces while it is pulled by Tanngnjostr and Tanngrisnir. Sifje was his wife and with her he had a daughter Thurd. With Jamasaxom he had sons: Magnija (power) and Modija (strength), and human servants were Thialfi and Roskva. For Thor’s horn there is a story that one part of that horn was dipped in the sea so that when Thor drank water from it tide would be created. Thor served as an inspiration for Thor cartoon hero of series of comic books published by MARVEL COMICS.
