Google Earth is a program that enables virtual 3D presentation of Earth’s surface and space, and since version 5.0 even the sea. The display is created out of many different satellite images that are not taken in real time, but were joined after. The chosen part of the Earth’s surface can be enlarged and reveal even the smallest details.
It is possible to review cities or natural monuments, depending on the degree of sharpness of the picture of that area (some areas are can be seen more clearly on certain level of magnification then others). In order to find the desired location more easily, in the left side of the screen there is a search engine. You only need to enter the name of the place that you want to see and virtual Earth begins to turn and set itself to display wanted location. Apart from described “travel” on virtual Earth, there are additional information about certain places. Only chosen information are displayed, and that can be texts from Wikipedia, researches from National Geographic, then roads, borders (state or regional), capitols and other cities, airports, restaurants, hotels and other. There is an option in turn on 3D buildings, and it enables us to see a more realistic look of certain territory. Apart from more or less regular things you can see strange areas often inaccessible and forbidden to many of us.
