In 1953 they became the only civilians to be executed for espionage. They supplied A-bomb information to the Soviets.
05RONALD AND REGINALD KRAY
They were gangster twins who ruled London’s east end in the 50s and 60s. Brothers Kray became celebrities, mixing with Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland. Later they convicted for murder.
04FRANK AND JESSE JAMES
Outlaw brothers who started out as Confederate guerrillas in the US Civil War. Accused of bank and train robbers, Jesse was killed for a bounty and Frank retired.
03IAN BRADY AND MYPA HINDLAY
The Moors murders killed five children on Saddleworth Moor in the UK. They were both jailed for life, with Hindley dying in prison.
02WILLIAM BURKE AND WILLIAM HARE
They murdered 16 people and sold the bodies for medical studies. To avoid conviction, Hare testified against Burke, who was hanged in 1829.

Bonnie and Clyde, romanticized for a 1930s crime spree that included the murders of nine police officers. Eventually shot more than 50 times by police.
